Gnomeo and Juliet

Masih ingat dengan "Romeo and Juliet" karya Baz Luhrmann di tahun 1996 ??? Kini kembali digarap dengan format 3D animasi yang dilengkapi dengan lagu lagu Elton John.

Alkisah, ada dua keluarga yang hidup dan tinggal bersebelahan di daerah suburban di kota london. Hampir mirip dengan film Buzz Lightyear yang mana tokoh mainannya bisa hidup, demikian juga dengan boneka boneka dalam film ini. Ketika Mr. Capulet dan Mrs. Montague sedang tidak di rumah, boneka boneka itu hidup dan saling bermusuhan layaknya seperti pemilik mereka.

Boneka tim Gnomeo bertopi warna biru, sedangkan boneka tim juliet bertopi warna merah. Seperti yang sudah diketahui, Gnomeo dan Juliet saling jatuh cinta di tengah permusuhan antara kedua keluarga. Apabila dibandingkan dengan cerita aslinya, secara keseluruhan, alur dan konflik dalam versi animasi 3D ini lebih disederhanakan.

Karakter Gnomeo dan Julietnya terkesan datar datar saja, cuman karakter karakter pendukung seperti si angsa (karena kakinya patah, harus menunggu 20 tahun untuk mendapatkan kakinya), si katak, dan si jamur. Mereka itulah yang banyak mencuri perhatian dalam film animasi ini. Mereka cerewet, banyak tingkah, dan bisa menciptakan kelucuan sehingga lebih menghibur dan menyenangkan buat ditonton bersama keluarga.
